Grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, settle in, and meet the team! ☕🍷 💫 Lane Lastinger is a lifetime lover of the outdoors, music, and travel. After a 20-year career as a lawyer, he decided to trade in the courtroom and his desk for a career in the woods connecting with people looking for adventure and good times. 💫 Beth Lastinger spent 20 years as a lawyer in St. Petersburg, Florida. Then she, her husband Lane, and their three young sons embarked on a year-long adventure around the world with the goal of reconnecting as a family through exploration and adventure. This experience resulted in a move to the mountains of Western NC. 💫 After attending University of Georgia, Collin O'Berry pursued his lifelong dream of hiking the Appalachian Trail, solidifying his plans of making the southern Appalachians his home. Collin enjoys spending his spare time trail running and mountain biking.💫 Jenni O'Berry always had a love for the Appalachian mountains, where she and Collin relocated to in 2011. In 2016, Jenni and Collin welcomed their daughter, Ruby.💫 After thru-hiking the Appalachian trail and Mountains to Sea trail, Syl Neel knew that he’d one day call the Appalachian Mountains home. Syl now lives on-site at Pilot Cove, managing the property and the guest experience on a daily basis. 💫 Alycia Neel moved to Brevard from Michigan at a young age, and it didn’t take long for her to fall in love with the area. Learn what one guest had to say below, and then book now at pilotcove.com. 🍂🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁Pilot Cove has been thoughtfully designed to create a comfortable, modern cabin experience in the forest. The cabins line a rather steep hill that is just above a main road. Despite this, it is incredibly quiet and especially with the trees in full foliage you really do feel like you are in the forest.The cabins are situated so that guests have privacy and the spacious decks offer pleasant tree views (probably the higher the better). Some have steps so remember to contact the property if you have mobility issues. We appreciated our step-free request being accommodated. Our pet friendly, one bedroom (96) was lovely.There’s a “mud room” type entrance which would be useful for muddy hiking days and a large living room/kitchen. The bedroom is a good size with a large picture window with a view of the trees. While we did not use the kitchen amenities, it was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans etc. As this was a pet-friendly cabin, a dog waste station was conveniently located at the roadside near the driveway - management has made it easy to responsibly pick up after our pets.The location can’t be beat — literally at the doorstep of the Pisgah National Forest. Perfect for hiking, etc. The owners obviously care very much about their property and were responsive to questions about our stay.
