COVID-19 Update From Pilot Cove

WE ARE OPEN!

It’s needless to say, yet we will anyway! If you’re sick or not feeling well, don’t come. If you’ve been around anyone who is sick or hasn’t been feeling well, don’t come. We are working to be flexible with guests regarding changes in travel plans due to COVID. When you are here, please practice responsible social distancing protocols. This applies to whether you are in the grocery store, or in the middle of the National Forest. We all need to do our part to combat COVID-19 to keep our community, and ourselves, safe and healthy.

Q:  What is Pilot Cove doing to abate the spread of COVID-19?

A:  As you already know, we hold our staff to very high cleanliness standards for the cabins and Pilot Cove property. More info and feedback from guests on our cleanliness standards can be found here! Aside from our current practices, additional steps we are taking can be found below.

-We have enacted more stringent sanitizing and cleaning standards for the cabins and common areas at Pilot Cove. Surfaces, handrails, door knobs, remote controls, etc are being regularly wiped down with disinfectant and proper cleaning supplies.

-We ask that guests be honest with us about their health and if they are experiencing any illness symptoms consistent with COVID-19 before coming to Pilot Cove. We consider this an ethical obligation. More information about COVID-19 can be found here from the CDC website – https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.

-As a hospitality business, we have cleaning supplies on hand and will use them liberally as a regular practice, also upon guest request should they desire additional cleaning measures.

Q:  The outlook is changing daily. What if the travel advisories are enacted again?

A:  We are following the details from local and national health organizations closely. Should another travel ban be put into affect, then we will make adjustments accordingly. Please stay tuned to our website and social media accounts for more information as we get it.

Q:  What is your refund policy for COVID-related travel distuptions?

If shutdowns are mandated for all of NC or Transylvania County NC, then we will issue full refunds to guests. If lockdowns affect other areas that guests are traveling from, we will gladly offer a credit of the amount paid towards a future stay with no expiration. As always, we recommend trip insurance for any bookings, and many credit card providers offer this benefit, if not purchased alternatively.

We appreciate our guest’s flexibility with us during this difficult time for us all. Please feel welcome to reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions. We wish health, safety, and prosperity to you all.
