We all have been following the news, and the current spread of COVID-19 is a scary event that we all must take seriously. As a friend of Pilot Cove, we wanted to share the precautions we are taking to ensure the health, safety, welfare, and enjoyment of our guests. Pilot Cove is OPEN and operating normally during this time, save for a few changes we have outlined below. Also we advise all travelers to visit the Explore Brevard NC website to read updated COVID-19 travel advisories to the area. Please note that we are experiencing high contact  volumes currently, and suggest the best way to reach us is via email at info@pilotcove.com.

Frequently Asked Questions about your upcoming visit to Pilot Cove

Q:  I will be unable to use my Pilot Cove reservation due to the travel advisories. What happens to my current reservation and deposit?  

A:  We have relaxed our policies to allow guests to make informed decisions that work for them re: traveling to Pilot Cove and Pisgah National Forest.  These policies apply to all guests who have a booking through April 30, 2020.

1)      CHANGE STAY DATES?  We are happy to rebook guests for date(s) in the future for the deposit amount paid in advance. Please let us know desired dates and we will reference our calendar availability and get back to you.

2)      CREDIT TOWARDS A FUTURE STAY?  We are happy to allow guests to cancel their current reservation, and we will issue a credit for the full deposit amount towards a stay in the future, with an expiration of 12/31/2021.

Please know we realize the travel advisories are undesirable for all of us, and we are working to accommodate guests as best we can! Please reach out to us at info@pilotcove.com to select from the above options if you are unable to make the trip to Pilot Cove.

Q:  What is Pilot Cove doing to abate the spread of COVID-19?

A:  As you already know, we hold our staff to very high cleanliness standards for the cabins and Pilot Cove property. More info and feedback from guests on our cleanliness standards can be found here! Aside from our current practices, additional steps we are taking can be found below.

-We have enacted more stringent sanitizing and cleaning standards for the cabins and common areas at Pilot Cove. Surfaces, handrails, door knobs, remote controls, etc are being regularly wiped down with disinfectant and proper cleaning supplies.

-We are inquiring with every guest in advance and at the time of their arrival about their health. This assessment applies to EVERY GUEST who is visiting Pilot Cove. We consider this an ethical obligation, and we ask that guests be honest with us about their health and if they are experiencing any illness symptoms consistent with COVID-19. -As a hospitality business, we have cleaning supplies on hand and will use them liberally as a regular practice, also upon guest request should they desire additional cleaning measures.

Q:  The outlook is changing daily. What if the travel advisories last longer than predicted? Shorter than predicted?

A:  Please know we are following the details from local and national health organizations closely and will be making adjustments to our plans as details become more clear. Should we need to extend these special policies, we will notify guests should we need to reschedule future stays.  Please stay tuned to our website and social media accounts for more information as we get it.

Additionally, if you are interested in a longer period booking of multiple weeks with us at Pilot Cove during April, please reach out info@pilotcove.com to inquire about special rates. The COVID-19 travel advisories have hit us hard and we’re adapting to guests with longer stay needs as best we can. Quarantine and social distancing practices are mandatory for our longer stay guests.
